Church Life:
A Focus on Direction

It seems to go along with my other post today on "Foolish Expectations" -- how does a church define and set expectations based on the Headship of Christ rather than the world.

My church is starting that process over the next eight weeks - the introductory message is here. The core passage (there has to be one of those) was:
1 Thessalonians 1:2 We thank God always for all of you as we mention you constantly in our prayers, 3 because we recall in the presence of our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and endurance of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
The theme of the the examination of the direction of the church will be:

Faith - Love - Hope
Following Jesus Together

With focus on these ideas:
  • Faith towards God
  • Love for each other
  • Hope for the world
For those in ministry who frequently think about how to set these kind of goals and directions - I encourage to listen to the next 8 weeks.
